Important Information Regarding NHA Certified EKG Technician Exam Retakes

If you attended the course and did not pass the NHA exam, you are eligible to retake it no sooner than 30 days after your original test date, and no later than 90 days from that same date. You are not required to retake the exam through our center—you may choose to retest at a PSI location or another approved testing site.

Option 1: Retake Through PSI (Recommended for Faster Scheduling)

You may retake your exam at a PSI Testing Center. These centers often have more frequent availability. The current exam fee is approximately $175–$200, though pricing is subject to change.

• Contact NHA to request a referral to PSI or another testing center: 1 (800) 499-9092

Option 2: Retake Through California Medical Training Center ($300)

If you prefer to retake the exam with us, which include a review of the material, the cost is $300. This includes:

• A focused review session on exam day

• Optional attendance on Days 1 and 2 of the course at no additional charge

• Testing fee

To retake your exam through our center, you must follow these steps in the EXACT ORDER:

Step 1: Register and Pay $300

Step 2: Schedule Your NHA Exam

Only after completing Step 1, log into the NHA portal and schedule your retake:
🔗 We will send you the instructions for scheduling your exam after registering with us. 

⚠️ Do NOT schedule your exam before paying the $300 registration fee. If you do, your exam will be rejected and you will need to test elsewhere.

Step 3: Attend the Exam Day

Join us on the scheduled date at 9am course for your exam and review session.
If you wish to attend Days 1 and/or 2, which are usually held on on Mondays and Tuesdays we the exam date, please email us in advance to coordinate your attendance.

Critical Deadlines

• Your retake must be scheduled no earlier than 30 days after your original exam date.

• It must be taken no later than 90 days after that original date.

• Failure to meet this timeline means you will need to retake your exam at another center (e.g., PSI).
